Intro to Batik Making

Join us for a meditative, hands-on session to learn about the art of batik. This introductory level workshop will walk you through the basics of how to use a canting, a traditional pen-like tool used to designing batik tulis or “handwritten” batik. You’ll also learn about specific batik patterns and the history of how fabric can be used as a form of storytelling.
