The S&O Double Cold IPA is a collaboration between four of our favourite out of town breweries, made with local Sasquatch hops, the only proprietary, trademarked Canadian hop variety in the world!
Brewed during the BC Craft Brewers Conference in New West, this Double Cold IPA is the brainchild of Coast Mountain in Whistler, Angry Hen in Kaslo, Mountainview in Hope, Land and Sea in Comox, and of course yours truly.
A big malt bill of Superior Pilsner, Munich, Carahell, and Flaked Rice, steadies the generous dry hop of Sasquatch, with Cashmere, Citra, and Mosaic and supporting roles to create a delightful symphony of tropical and citrus notes, with a hint of pine. This collab Double Cold IPA maintains those classic IPA notes while finishing smooth, leaving your palate ready for another sip, all while offering a gentle warmth from the elevated alcohol content.
Collaboration is at the heart of our brewing philosophy, and this project exemplifies the magic that can happen when like-minded breweries come together. It’s a testament to the craft brewing community’s spirit of camaraderie and innovation. And it was also just a great excuse to get together and enjoy some beers with our friends.
