Lumēna

Saison with Lemon and Timut Peppercorn

Lumēna is a rough Nepalese translation of lumen, used to measure units of light. This beer is intended to be bright!

Brewed with Timut pepper from Nepal, which is related to Sichuan peppercorn. Fun fact: Neither are considered a real peppercorn. Timut provides flavours of grapefruit peel and yuzu with a piquant zing. We also juiced a whole case of lemons, adding the zest to the boil and the juice in the whirlpool, bringing a refreshing brightness. The Belgian Saison yeast contributes a dry, spiced finish.

A base of Canadian Pilsner malt, with wheat and rye for added complexity. Mandarina Bavaria and Hallertau Mittelfrüh provide a light bitterness and a touch of citrus and earthy spiciness.

Canadian malt, Nepalese pepper, Belgian yeast and German hops make this is a real international conglomeration!
