Back again this year. An awareness project/fundraiser with @BruceandBeer.
An amazing advocate and champion of marginalized and discriminated against communities, @BruceandBeer is an avid craft beer lover and supporter. Here are their words to describe this project:
“”We’re here, we’re queer, we want to drink your beer.
This beer is part of an ongoing project where I work with breweries I respect and trust to make a collab that will benefit a community organization outside of the ‘Designated Marginalized Group Month’. Community organizations and charities are run by dedicated teams of folks who should be recognized for their hard work year-round. Breweries, as community businesses can use their reach to promote safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces.
Partial proceeds from Rainbow Shark will be going to WAVAW Rape Crisis Centre. WAVAW is a feminist, anti-oppressive, decolonizing rape crisis centre operating on the unceded Coast Salish Territories. We provide free-of-charge support including a 24 hour crisis line, counselling and victim services to survivors of sexualized violence who have shared experiences of gender marginalization. @wavawrcc serves cis and trans women, Two-Spirit, trans and/or non-binary people. We advocate for social and systemic change through education, outreach and activism. Many, many thanks to Jorden and his amazing team for working on this with me. ”
Slàinte Mhath!”
As for the beer:
The hop profile is bursting with coconut and pineapple balanced by undertones of biscuit goodness. Think of an excellent Pina Colada cookie from your favorite bakery. Tropical and bright, it’s got a smooth and satisfying mouthfeel thanks to the additions of oat and wheat.
