One of our favourite beers we brew is Towers and Trains. We love the way that beer and tea come together in a seamless fusion of complimentary flavours. We wanted to find a way to create a lighter version of that experience that stood on it’s own.
There’s nothing quite like having a cold beer and a jasmine tea to accompany your dim sum. And then it hit us… what if the jasmine WAS the cold beer?
Enter Bridges and Boroughs.
Brewed with a base of Canadian Pilsner malt along with some Rice flakes some darker malts for contrast. The base is light and crisp and lightly hopped with Vista and Tettnang.
We then worked with our good pals over at Great Wall Tea in the New West Quay, who helped create the perfect blend for us. The combination of their Organic Jasmine Green and Organic Jasmine Dragon Tears was lovingly steeped and then blended into the beer as it conditioned.
The result is a beautiful fusion of beer and tea flavours and aromas. Delicately floral, smoothly herbaceous. Balanced by a gentle malt sweetness with pleasing biscuit notes.
We hope this evokes pleasant memories of Dim Sum afternoons with friends, enjoying good company and tasty bites.
